Rotifer has good characteristics such as size, nutritional value, slow swimming and these features are important in the development of early stage of aquatics. Growth and density are considered as important factors in the production of rotifers. <br /><strong>Materials and methods:</strong>In this study, the effect of three different concentrations (1.5×10⁶, 3×10⁶, 4.5×10⁶ cell/ml^-1) of filamentous algae, <em>Oscillatoria spp.</em>, on growth and reproduction of marine rotifer<em>, Brachionus plicatilis</em> was investigated. The rotifers were cultured in standard conditions in 500 ml plastic containers. The initial density of rotifers in different treatments was 30 ind/ml. <br /><strong>Results:</strong>At the end of the fifth day, the highest density (453.66 ± 6.33) (M±SE) was seen in high concentration (4.5×10⁶ cell.ml^-1), which were significantly (P<0/05) higher than the other two treatments. Specific growth rate were significantly greater at medium (3×10⁶ cell.ml^-1) and high (4.5×10⁶ cell.ml^-1) concentrations than low concentrations (1.5×10⁶cell.ml^-1) of filamentous algae (P<0.05). However, no significant differences were observed between the two treatments of medium and high concentrations. The maximum number of eggs (113±4.72) and egg-bearing females (102±5.03) were observed in treatment of 4.5×10⁶ cell.ml^-1 at fourth day. Most of the egg rate was observed in the second and third days of treatment with medium concentration of filamentous algae (P<0/05). <br /><strong>Discussion and conclusion:</strong>The present study showed that filamentus algae<em>, Oscillatoria spp.</em> can be used in culturing of marine rotifer and changing different concentrations can produce different density of rotifers. <strong>مقدمه:</strong> در سال‌های اخیر، استفاده از روتیفرها به‌عنوان غذای زنده برای پرورش لارو ماهیان و سخت‌پوستان، اهمیت پیدا کرده است. روتیفرها با دارابودن ویژگی‌هایی از جمله اندازه مناسب، ارزش‌غذایی و شنای آرام دارای قابلیت زیادی در پرورش مراحل اولیه لارو آبزیان مختلف هستند. رشد و تراکم به‌عنوان فاکتورهای مهم در تولید روتیفرها محسوب می‌شوند.<br /> <strong>مواد و روش‌ها:</strong> در مطالعۀ حاضر در شرایط آزمایشگاهی اثر 3 غلظت مختلف (10⁶×5/1 ، 10⁶× 3 و 10⁶× 5/4 سلول در میلی‌لیتر) جلبک رشته‌ای <em>Oscillatoria spp</em><strong>.</strong>بر رشد و تولیدِمثل روتیفر آب شور <em>Brachionus plicatilis</em> بررسی شد. کشت روتیفرها در شرایط استاندارد و در ظروف پلاستیکی 500 میلی‌لیتری با تراکم اولیه 30 عدد در میلی‌لیتر انجام شد.<br /> <strong>نتایج: </strong>در انتهای پنجمین روز از دورۀ پرورش بیشترین تراکم (33/6±66/453 فرد در میلی‌لیتر) (میانگین± انحراف معیار) در غلظت غذایی 10⁶×5/4 سلول در میلی‌لیتر به دست آمد که به‌طور معنی‌داری (05/0p<) نسبت به دو تیمار دیگر بیشتر بود. نرخ رشد ویژه در غلظت‌های 10⁶×3 و 10⁶×5/4 سلول در میلی‌لیتر به‌طور معنی داری بیشتر از تیمار 10⁶×5/1 سلول در میلی‌لیتر بود (05/0p<) اما بین دو تیمار 10⁶×3 و 10⁶×5/4 سلول در میلی‌لیتر تفاوت معنی‌داری مشاهده نشد(05/0p>). بیشترین تعداد تخم (72/4±113) و ماده‌های تخم‌دار (03/5±102) در تیمار 10⁶×5/4 سلول در میلی‌لیتر و در روز چهارم مشاهده شد. بیشترین نرخ تخم در روزهای دوم و سوم در تیمار متوسط با تراکم 10⁶×3 سلول در میلی‌لیتر مشاهده شد(05/0p<). ‌<br /> <strong>بحث و نتیجه‌گیری:</strong> مطالعۀ حاضر نشان داد که جلبک رشته‌ای <em>اسیلاتوریا</em> قابلیت استفاده در غلظت‌های مختلف در پرورش روتیفر آب شور را دارد و با تغییر غلظت‌های مختلف می‌توان روتیفرهایی با تراکم متفاوتی تولید کرد. https://bjm.ui.ac.ir/article_21012_a852b475455a5fabcc81b99ec631967a.pdf
